Film/Panel Event Sunday October 30 - Almost Sold Out!

On Sunday, October 30, the Sausalito Film Series will host a screening of the award-winning film Just Eat It, spotlighting the problem of food waste and the impact of food recovery. The event benefits ExtraFood and SFS. Details:

When: Sunday, October 30

Where: The spectacular setting of Cavallo Point -- the Lodge at Golden Gate, in Sausalito at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge.

What: Reception at 5pm, Film at 6:00, Panel Discussion at 7:15

Tickets: Tickets are $25 and available through the Sausalito Film Series website. Proceeds benefit ExtraFood and SFS.

Panel: Local leaders in food recovery and food waste reduction will discuss the issues raised in the film, and will highlight new local and national initiatives that address the problem. They will also idenitfy actions attendees can take at work and at home to reduce food waste and its impact on climate change, and to help alleviate hunger in Marin.

The panel will be moderated by longtime Marin environmentalist Doug McConnell, creator of Bay Area Backroads and OpenRoad on NBC-TV. Panelists will be:

•  Congressman Jared Huffman, co-sponsor of the Food Recovery Act now under consideration in the U.S. House of Representatives

•  Dana Gunders, Senior Scientist, Natural Resources Defense Council, "Just Eat It" interviewee, and author of Waste Free Kitchen Handbook

•  Marv Zauderer, Founder and Chairman, ExtraFood.org
