Food Recovery in Marin County: By picking up excess fresh food from businesses and immediately delivering it to nonprofits serving Marin’s most vulnerable children, adults, and families, we address the critical issues of hunger, food waste, and global warming.

Michelle Schmitt’s December 7 Concert at 142 Throckmorton Benefits ExtraFood!
October 04, 2017

The amazingly talented and extraordinarily generous singer-songriter Michelle Schmitt will once again give 100% of the proceeds from her December 7 show at the 142 Throckmorton Theatre to ExtraFood. The show always sells out, so get your tickets early and help ExtraFood get more healthy, fresh food to more vulnerable children, adults, and families throughout our county.

General admission is $25, but a $100 VIP ticket gets you reserved seating and a pre-show reception catered by Heidi Krahling of Insalata's and Marinitas restaurants! Plus you'll know that you're helping the hungry so much more. $100 equips 2 of our volunteers with the materials and tools they need to pick up excess food from any business in the county and immediately deliver it to our recipient partners.

In the 3+ years of our county-wide food recovery program we've organized, recovered, and delivered 1,400,000+ pounds of food, and we're reaching more than 5,000 people every month. Your gift helps us make food recovery a way of life in Marin -- keeping excess food out of our landfills, where it creates an enormous environmental problem -- and it helps us get more nutritious food to more people in need!
