Food Recovery in Marin County: By picking up excess fresh food from businesses and immediately delivering it to nonprofits serving Marin’s most vulnerable children, adults, and families, we address the critical issues of hunger, wasted food, and global warming.
Our Food Donor of the Week is Mini of Marin. Every year, their general manager, Joe Thomer, gifts his employees with a turkey for their Thanksgiving feasts. This week we were delighted to pick up 12 extra turkeys after they had been distributed to the employees. Our volunteer, Mary, picked up the turkeys and delivered 6 to Center Point and 6 to SparkPoint, in plenty of time for Thanksgiving. These two organizations were thrilled, to say the least!
