ExtraFood Provides Complete Meal For Marin’s Coast Guard Families
February 01, 2019

Marin's Coast Guard families, like many federal government employees, were without federal income for more than a month and have not yet received back pay. In partnership with Homeward Bound of Marin, ExtraFood was proud to serve these families who serve our country and our community so beautifully.

Homeward Bound served the families a delicious sit-down dinner at Homeward Bound's Next Key Center, with ice cream provided by ExtraFood through our partnership with Three Twins. And then, through the generosity of food donors in ExtraFood's Community Meals program, ExtraFood provided the families with a complete meal to take home: Lasagna, salad with chicken, roasted vegetables, a baguette with a bottle of olive oil, a bottle of sparkling apple juice, fruit, and freshly-baked cookies.

Our deepest gratitude to our long-time partners at Homeward Bound and these ExtraFood donors: Nugget Markets' Novato store, Whole Foods Market's Mill Valley (Miller Avenue) store, Whole Foods Market's San Rafael store, Woodlands Market's Kentfield store, Safeway Community Markets in San Anselmo, Mangia Nosh Catering, A Fork Full of Earth Catering, Three Twins, and Insalata's.
