Ways to Give
During this time, your gift will help ExtraFood with the added costs, such as extra staffing, that we face as we respond to the COVID-19 crisis. Your gift will help ensure children, seniors, and families in need can shelter in place.
Every $1 you invest enables us to share $4 worth of Marin's high-quality, fresh food with people in need. And ExtraFood will use your investment efficiently: in 2018, 95% of our expenditures were devoted to our program.

Are You 70 1/2 or Older?
Thanks to legislation passed in late 2015, the IRA Charitable Rollover allows taxpayers age 70.5 and older to make tax-free charitable gifts up to $100,000 per year directly from their IRAs to any qualified charity. This distribution is tax-free and can be very helpful for individuals with Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs). RMDs are ordinarily included in an individual's gross income and taxed as such, but by making a gift directly from an IRA to a charity, the gift is counted as part of the RMD but not counted as taxable income. For those eligible for the IRA Charitable Rollover, this may be the most tax-efficient way to make a gift in support of ExtraFood.org. We encourage you to consult with your financial advisor or attorney for confirmation of your eligibility and how you may take advantage of this opportunity.
ExtraFood.org is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization with Federal Tax ID 46-4025887. Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We'll send you an acknowledgement letter for tax purposes.
Thank you for helping us rescue and deliver healthy, fresh food for children, adults, and families in need.
