Are You 70 1/2 or Older?

Thanks to legislation passed in late 2015, the IRA Charitable Rollover allows taxpayers age 70.5 and older to make tax-free charitable gifts up to $100,000 per year directly from their IRAs to any qualified charity. This distribution is tax-free and can be very helpful for individuals with Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs). RMDs are ordinarily included in an individual's gross income and taxed as such, but by making a gift directly from an IRA to a charity, the gift is counted as part of the RMD but not counted as taxable income. For those eligible for the IRA Charitable Rollover, this may be the most tax-efficient way to make a gift in support of We encourage you to consult with your financial advisor or attorney for confirmation of your eligibility and how you may take advantage of this opportunity.
