Donate Food: Businesses, Schools, Hospitals

Have surplus food? Put it to good use. ExtraFood makes it easy for businesses to donate fresh, excess food and ensure it reaches neighbors who need it most. Your donations help reduce waste, support our community, and make a real impact every day.

Requirements to donate for prepared foods, bakeries, catering, etc:

  • The donation is enough to feed 25+ people in San Francisco, or 10+ people Marin/Sonoma

  • Prepared food is professionally catered, not from a residence

  • The food was chilled or picked up within 2 hours of being taken out of refrigeration

  • No liquid donations that have a high chance of spilling during transport

    Please include the following details in your email:

    • Address of pick up and parking instructions

    • A two-hour window for pick up

    • Onsite contact name and number

    • If you will be able to bring donation curbside to hand off to our ExtraFood staff or volunteer
