As we embark on our 10th year of operations I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey that ExtraFood has undertaken over the past decade, and the amazing impact we have achieved in the past 12 months.
Thanks to your support, ExtraFood has rescued and redistributed 8.7M pounds of fresh, nutritious food for our most food-insecure neighbors, including 2.7M in 2023. In addition to helping 25,000 people in our Bay Area communities nourish themselves and their families each week, the food we rescue is saved from becoming waste. In 2023 alone we have prevented the harmful gasses produced by 1,500 passenger vehicles.
These achievements go beyond statistics; they embody the meaningful impact on countless lives in our community, providing healthy fresh food that doesn't go to waste and harm our planet. Your compassion and generosity have been pivotal in making ExtraFood a beacon of hope, and we are grateful to work side by side with you to make our community stronger.
