In the Face of SNAP Cuts, Our Commitment to Feeding the Community Grows Stronger

July 01, 2025 /

As federal support for hunger relief programs like SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) continues to be reduced, thousands of families, seniors, and children in our region are feeling the impact.

At ExtraFood, we’re seeing this reality firsthand. More people are turning to food banks, pantries, and community programs, not because they want to, but because they have no other choice.

That’s why our work has never been more urgent.

While government programs may shrink, our commitment is expanding. We’re rescuing and redistributing fresh, healthy food, the kind often missing from traditional emergency food systems—to those who need it most. Each delivery means a senior can prepare a nutritious meal, a child can go to school with energy to learn, and a family can eat dinner together without having to choose between food and rent.

With your support, we’ve already delivered millions of pounds of food this year, keeping good food out of the landfill and putting it where it belongs: on people’s plates.

But there is more to do.

Every day, our team is mobilizing to close the growing gap left by SNAP reductions. We’re partnering with more donors, expanding our delivery routes, and strengthening our commitment to equity in food access. And we can’t do it without you.

Together, we are the safety net. Together, we ensure that no good food goes to waste, and no neighbor is left behind.

Thank you for standing with us during this critical time. 💜
