Help Us Grow

Have you heard about our gleaning program, Share the Bounty?

Share the Bounty picks up and/or harvests fresh, edible food from backyards and gardens that would otherwise go to waste. We then donate this food to food pantries, low-income housing facilities and other organizations that feed people in need. Plus, we can also use the produce for our SOUPer Food Kitchen program.

All types of fruits, vegetables, and herbs can be donated and we can even harvest your bounty if you're unable to.

There are many benefits to our gleaning program:

  • First, it helps to reduce food waste.
  • Second, gleaning helps people facing hunger. 1 in 5 people in Marin and 1 in 4 people in San Francisco experiences food insecurity. Our program helps to provide these individuals with access to fresh, healthy food.
  • Third, neighbors helping neighbors creates a sense of community.

If you or someone you know has excess garden or backyard produce, we would love to pick it up or arrange a time to harvest it. We believe that everyone deserves access to fresh, healthy food. And we believe that food recovery is a critical part of addressing hunger and food insecurity.
