Today, we're filled with immense gratitude as we celebrate a significant milestone - 10 years of serving our community as a food recovery organization.
Ten years ago, ExtraFood began with a simple yet powerful mission: to rescue surplus food and distribute it to people in need. What started as a small initiative has grown into a transformative force of good as we have expanded our services into San Francisco and Sonoma counties, created the SOUPer Food Kitchen with Chef Heidi Krahling and Insalata's Restaurant, and partnered with Share the Bounty for our gleaning program.
As we stand on the cusp of a new decade, our resolve to fight hunger and reduce wasted food is stronger than ever. To every volunteer, donor, partner, and community member who has been a part of our journey, we say a profound thank you.
