We are absolutely thrilled to shine the spotlight on the incredible generosity of Terra Linda Girl Scout Troop 10509! These young leaders recently made a big impact by donating the proceeds from their cookie fundraising efforts to our food recovery organization. While some money from cookie sales goes back to Girl Scouts of America, the balance of the money the troop decides what they want to do with what they raised.
Troop Leader Danielle shared with us that the troop decided to donate $100 to ExtraFood after carefully considering three local organizations seeking to address food insecurity. They held what is called a giving circle, where the girls learned about all three organizations, had a robust discussion, asked questions, and then voted on which organization would receive their donation. We are truly honored that you chose us for your donation! Our Development Director Vernon was on hand to receive their check and hear from the girls on their decision.
