We love this so much. Our Sonoma driver, Damian, picked up a donation of beautiful, handpicked apples from a generous community member through our gleaning program, Share the Bounty.
Those apples were delivered to Sonoma Valley Teen Services, where local teens turned them into delicious homemade applesauce. The finished applesauce then made its way to Sonoma Family Meal’s Unity Kitchen, which prepares 20 nutritious meals each day for the residents of Homeless Action Sonoma, a tiny home village for our unhoused neighbors.
Plus, Damian delivers those very meals to the village every weekday. đź’š
What an inspiring full-circle story: rescued fruit, empowered youth, and nourishing meals for people in need. Together, we’re proving that no good food—or good deed—ever goes to waste.
