La Raza Community Resource Center is a bilingual, multi-service, non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the social service, immigration, educational, and leadership development needs of low-income families and individuals. We are proud to support their organization with fresh, healthy food for their food pantry.
Ethena Caldas, Chief of Staff says "We are incredibly grateful for the ExtraFood donations. We have definitely seen an increase in households coming to our agency for emergency food boxes, and requesting to participate in our community food market.
You know a lot of our families, work hard, and work multiple jobs to support their household, and often it’s still not enough. So when they have to decide between paying rent and putting food on the table, we’re so grateful that they know they can come to La Raza CRC to receive this support.
The extra food means that we can support and invite more families to our community market, so that they can select what they need in a dignified and non judgmental way. It helps create some stability for households who need it most and who are faced with the challenges of SNAP cuts or delays. Were incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support that the community has shown us, and for trusting us to get these resources back to the community.”
