Our CEO, Will Dittmar, was honored to receive a recognition from the 4th annual Stars of Food and Wine Awards. This award is given by NorCal Public Media, which broadcasts and streams for NPR, PBS, and more in the Bay Area.
ExtraFood and Will were nominated in the category of Food Equity for our work rescuing food from being wasted and getting it to people who need it.
Each year, they host an event celebrating heroes in food, farming, sustainability, regeneration, food education, farmworkers and getting food to people who need it.
Will says, "This award is recognition of our, staff, volunteers, and community for making better a disjointed and misaligned food system that allows for both extreme waste and hunger. I feel humbled to accept this award on behalf of so many who helped achieve it yet also reaffirm we have much still to do."
