Volunteer Spotlight: Jeff White
Jeff has been part of the food rescue family since 2019 and volunteers with ExtraFood almost every day.
Jeff has done rescues in every kind of San Francisco weather imaginable. Rain, fog, heat, and everything in between.
His favorite rescue is every Sunday, when he handles one of our largest donors, Trader Joe's on 9th Street, moving an impressive 600 to 1000 pounds of food to the Hamlin Hotel, a low-income housing residence in the Tenderloin. He also loves picking up from Bi-Rite and delivering to Arriba Juntos, which helps people train for jobs and gain financial independence.
When he is not rescuing food, Jeff hikes and bikes the hills of San Francisco to stay strong for the ten rescues he does each week for ExtraFood. After seven years, he says the best part is the people he has met along the way. Thank you for showing up, week after week, Jeff!
